Part of the international freight forwarder's job is to make sure that the requirements of both the exporting and importing countries have been observed, and the required documentation has been correctly prepared and submitted.
This benefits both Importers and Exporters in many ways:
• Prevents seizures of cargo by customs or other government agencies
• Avoids fines and penalties by government agencies or carriers
• Prevents shipping delays and detention charges due to incomplete or incorrect documentation
• Makes customer less vulnerable to financial risks because the legitimate ocean freight forwarder is licensed and bonded

Customs Brokerage Capabilities:
HBL Laredo has both, Mexican and U.S. brokerage capabilities.
Customs Clearance:
HBL will facilitate the customs clearance process for all customers by utilization of Mexican / US Broker Partners.
- Utilizing a Customers specified broker instead of HBL's Broker - Not a Problem -
- Currently, HBL works with customer specified brokers other than HBL’s. HBL is flexible and can work in accordance to customer needs. HBL will maintain the expediting and pull-push process to ensure that we provide the optimum service to our customers.
